What are you guys doing for replacement seats?
I am looking at a 72 Burb 2x4, and from what I can see in pics it has no seats in it. It would be nice to find some seats that look good and fit right. If at all possible I would like to keep the 9 passenger seating arrangement as well.
Suggestions? |

I have seen them put a 73-90 middle seat in our generation but it involves some fabrication. Hardest thing (if you want to stay OG) is finding the rear seat brackets. Good luck |

Re: What are you guys doing for replacement seats?
I am hoping to find out more this week. I am only able to see what is there from pictures the current owner sent me. Sometimes it sucks being off shore...but the money is decent.
The pics the owner sent me show a good bit of rust on the outer quarters, door bottoms, etc.....the normal stuff. No pics of the seats or if it even has any in it. I will be looking for patch panels, and who knows what else at this point. I know the engine is gone, but the original 4 speed is still there. Plans at teh moment are for a 350 I already have to drop in it, and attempt to get the thing running and driving down the road. Seats will be an issue....for now. I can fabricate seat mounts for the back two rows if need be. I am hoping someone on here will have dimensions, etc for the seat mounts. Maybe some good pics of them as well. Shouldn't be too bad. |

I did the original 9 pass seats. It took a while to find all the seats, but I found them. I had them recovered and it looks great.

Deathwish...there is a thread on the home page (in the Thread/Thread Starter section) called 67-72 Suburban OE seats. There is a lot of info there including pictures with measurements.

LuckyScott....that is what I am hoping to do. I would prefer to have the original style seats. The appearance would be "right" with recovered originals.
Beach-Burban...I must have looked right past it. I will go back and take a look. I am not above taking a few truck benchs and cutting the frames down to dimension and welding them back up. It is an option.... |

Re: What are you guys doing for replacement seats?
There are a ton of seat threads on the pickup side using virtually every truck seat combo. Swapping the front will be almost the same as a pickup. It is a good resource for visual information and how to install information.
I am going to convert my 2nd row to a square body seat to have the convenience of a folding seat and the fronts are going to be a 2013 GMC buddy bucket style (If they pass the trial period).
