Mounting 67-69 mirrors using 70-72 mirror holes.
The other day I grabed some mirrors off of a 69 chevy. And wanted to use them on my 71 gmc with out drilling more holes in the door. ( yes they are farther away from the fender then thare sappose to be). In order to do so I had to slot one of the holes on the mirror braket. I used duct tape as a "gasket". Just so it was not steel on steel. And it covers the two unused holes. I think it turned out ok. Just need to order new mirror heads. What do you think?
