Repair or replace radiator?

I bought this Champion aluminum radiator and less than a year later, it started leaking. I added 2 bottles of stop leak and that worked for a short time and now it's leaking worse than ever. It's leaking where the tubes and tank meet on both sides.

Can this be repaired? If not, what kind of radiator do you recommend that won't break the bank?

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

I’m very happy with my spectra radiator. Was like $110 and truck runs cooler than my stock BB radiator did.

I have used Champion rads for years, never saw one like that, make sure when you buy anti-freeze, that is compatible for aluminum rads,i heard that if you use the old style green stuff, that it will eat it up.

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

Less then a year? Check your warranty period. Possible you got a 'Monday' radiator.

Spretre are plastic tank and aluminum core.

Pony up that $500 for a 4-row AC big block Brass and copper. Those last for ever.

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

This is usually why I like Genuine Radiators. If you can find one
Never bought an Aftermarket so I wouldn't know.

But My guess is maybe just a Faulty Radiator, should be able to get a new one under your Warranty.

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

Update:

Champion Radiator did honor the lifetime warranty without question. The new radiator arrived in 3 days and is now installed. I hope that the previous one was just a bad one and this one lasts for the life of the vehicle.

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

I've had a champion in my 1950 F1 for seven years now with no issues.

Re: Repair or replace radiator?

I am here now also. My 3 row frostbite doesn't agree with the stock 3 row mounts. Gotta send it back to Jegs.
