Backup lights in in neutral
I'm getting backup lights, just for a moment (then they go off) in "N" instead of "R". Any electric gurus out there who have a fix for that? Advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Assuming a column shift automatic, you need to check the backup light switch attached to the base of the column under the dash. It is held on by 2 small screws and there is some slight adjustment you can make at that point. The other place you can adjust some "slop" is in your linkage where it attached to the column on the engine side of firewall.
Alternatively, the switch may be worn out and need replacing altogether. If you remove it, you'll see how it works, its pretty simple.

I have the same problem with my 700R4 in my truck. I'm told you can adjust the switch but I haven't had a chance yet.
