cowl hood

anyone experimented with building a 2-3" cowl hood with one 69-72 hood and one 67-8 hood? maybe i just have too much time on my hands, but building a hood would be a lot cheaper than buying one, and using the center section off a 67-68 would give kinda factory look to the hood peak. metal work no big deal, but need another opinion, my imagination is only so good.

Someone on here did that a while back. They made a pattern out of cardboard, transfered it to the second hood, and cut it out so the ridge on the hood was where it looked like a stock cowl.I think it was 3or4".

I made this hood. I bought the fiberglass cowl and glued to the original steel hood. The center lines are different. I never had another hood to take the center line out of so I did my best with what I had. It took me three evenings to blend the lines to where it looked good.
