4x4 running gear questions

Did the 3/4 ton come with a Dana 44 up front?

Is the 14 bolt the only rear axle that came on a 3/4 ton?

Where can you get gear sets for his 14 bolt rear?

3/4 ton as well as the 1/2 ton came with 44's up front. These trucks didn't come with the 14 bolt rear. They came with either a Dana 60 or a Corporate/Eaton rear.

I can't seem to find info on the "Corporate/Eaton" Only GM 12 and 14 bolt, and Dana 60. Can anyone point me in the right direction for gears. Thanks

I believe there was a post awhile back about gears for the corporate/eaton rearends that recommended Randy's www.ringpinion.com you'll probably have to call them.

The 14 bolt showed up in 73 and dana60s in the front in 77. 10 bolt fronts showed up in 77 and there was a mix of 10 bolts and dana44s up front until 80

From what I can find out, the Corporate/Eaton is manufacturers name of the 10, 12, and 14 bolt (just guessing that "corporate" refers to GM). The axle I'm refering to is from a friends rig. A 70 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. It has a 4.11 ratio. He wants to go discs and to a higher ratio, say 3.73s. Of course, cheap and easy is always prefered.

The corporate/eaton rear that would come under 3/4 ton is not like the 10,12,14 bolt rears. This corporate/eaton rear was stopped in 1972 had 10 bolts holding on the rear round cover and had a drop out center section like a 9" rear. Gearing is limited and was in the numerically higher 4:1 range. I believe the highest gearing available was 4.11:1. Though I believe someone said 3:73 are/were made??? not sure. Only locker available was a detroit that I don't think is made anymore. I believe someone posted that Randy's ring and pinion had some(used).
