The Olive poly colors are Medium (lighter) and Dark (darker). There is no Light Olive Poly. There's a Light Green, like on the truck and like Gumby...same color.

Here's you Medium Olive Poly. It seems to be hard to mix because it doesn't seem to come out consistantly:

Hello would the top truck green paint code be 506 72 color

Re: Light olive green trucks

Here are a few trucks from the past. you can see how much it can vary. The first couple are tired old original '71. Then a repaint somewhat fresher, followed by after it faded. The last one is faded original with a nice tint of quarry mud for effect

Enough with my old junk. Here is one of the last trucks I saw built by Jerry Brown. I wish I could have just thrown the money down and drove it away!

Re: Light olive green trucks

I guess I'd call it light olive. It is lighter than GM's Medium Olive and Dark Olive. Names only really matter when it comes to factory colors

Re: Light olive green trucks

You're so right on getting the color right, as the paint recipes don't match my glove box or ash tray. Any chance you could share how you got your paint guy to mix yours right?
Thanks, Tom in Colorado

Re: Light olive green trucks

I recently picked up my grandpa's '71 from my mom's cousin. It had not really been touched in 15 years prior. The color combo of olive green and yellow is one you do not frequently see!

How it looked when I picked it up.

Closer look of the olive/yellow combo.

After being cleaned up a bit.

Hood and fenders were in horrible shape so had some paint mixed up in spray paint cans to temporarily fix the issue. I then scuffed them up a bit to match the rest of the truck.

paint matches pretty well other than looking newer and not faded/lacking luster. I think once I buff it out a bit they will blend better.

After the new suspension and 5/7 drop was installed.

I realize that's a lot of pictures but just wanted to show my progress with having a shop mix up a few cans.
