LMC Windshield
What can anyone tell me about LMC green-tint windshields? LMC says they are domestically sourced. Are they worth $170?
Based what I read in other threads here, I’m not sure anyone makes a consistently high quality windshield today—seems to be a crapshoot. I’ll be in KC in a couple of weeks and would like to buy a windshield while I’m there and avoid shipping charges. LMC has green-tint windshields in stock. I usually prefer Classic Parts but they are out of stock and have no estimate for when they will have more.

Re: LMC Windshield
Looks like autocityclassic.com only carries windshields with the shaded band across the top. Ditto for my local shops. Thanks all, but it sounds like LMC is still my best option for green tint windshield since I can pick it up and avoid shipping.

Re: LMC Windshield
Picked up a green-tint windshield at LMC last week. They packed it up very nicely for the trip back to Des Moines. I unpacked it today to check it out--it looks nice but I haven't tried fitting it yet. There isn't a brand on the safety stamp, only this text in black font:
LAMINATED Safety Glass DOT-686 ASI LMC tells me it's domestically made. Does anyone know who would be the manufacturer? It's ~0.240" thick by my calipers' measurement. How does this compare to OEM?

Re: LMC Windshield
All that tells you is that it was made by YUANG CHANG GLASS CO., LTD. TAIWAN, P.R.O.C.
http://www.carwindshields.info/dot_db .24" (6mm) sounds about right. I have the original glass, I'll go look at the numbers on it next time out.
