haha
I saw that one...funny, I didn't know that they made a blazer with no backseat. Must have been an option that most people didn't take advantage of huh? <snicker> I could imagine the guy back in 1970 trying to oder one... "Yes, I want a blazer, but I dont want a backseat. I want it to look just like a pickup, with a bed and all....but I want it to be a blazer" lol, the sailsmen probably looked at him with a tilted head, put a K5 emblem on it, and made some extra money...lol "It's the simple things in life"

looks clean
For an older resto and buildup it looks fiarly decent. Best of both worlds. Making the bed and moving the cab mounts takes some skills.

Decent Truck
I guess I missed the big joke... Why all the flaming?
Looks like a daily driven, fairly complete blazer/truck...I say "nice work" I believe a base blazer could of been bought with nothing more than just the drivers seat...nothing else, very basic, not even side windows let alone a rear seat. Last edited by vtblazer; 06-02-2004 at 07:05 AM. |

nonono, I guess I was mistaken.
But, now that I re-read what I posted, I suppose it could be taken as a flame. I was only kidding. It is rare, and anything rare should be applauded. If it seemed like a flame, it wasn't meant to be, I was only kidding.

hey guys, Chevy didnt offer one of these. You had to build it. I did one about 8 years ago and it was a real head turner! It drove great, unlike any short bed truck. It drove and cornered like a Blazer. I wish I had kept it. It always got that 2nd look! This one looks slightly rough, body wise but, nothing anyone couldnt fix and with a paint job after that, you would have what no one else has ever seen. I think it would be great at car shows. I would bid on it if the starting bid wasnt so high up there. With the gas situation, I think the market is a bit soft right now. It would be a good investment for someone that wanted to do a minor restro and have it finished should gas ever go under the $2 mark again. Very nice look'n rig. Those beds were a PITA to build, not to mention having to move the body mounts to fit the bed and the truck cab..

it isn't rare it is a truck with a shortened bed on a Blazer chassis, the reason I know this is because I know they guy that built them.

I have seen this truck out in a restaurant parking lot in Phoenix about two years ago. It really is an eye turner. I had a badly rusted out 72 Blazer back then and this truck made me want to do the same to my Blazer until I found out what kind of work it would take to fab the bed. I ended up selling the Blazer. If I remember correctly there was some sort of rack or roll bar in the bed as well at the time.

I don't know about the rack, but he built 2 of them a 2wd and a 4wd - I think he has both of them on Ebay.

Gas Tank Location
I wonder why he doesn't keep the oroginal blazer gas tank...?
Would make for at least a little more room in the cab for tool storage or just more leg room. Cool trucks though...food for thought. |

I liked the "THEFT DETERRING PAINT SCHEME" option on the 2WD.
