So i have found that the balancer ring has spun. I advanced the timing until i had clearence issues with the carb and vacuum advance. Huge improvement. But i think it is not there yet. Need to pull and turn the dizzy by a tooth. Will do that and replace the balancer.
The hei is gm stock. Dont know what it cam out of. I do have a 1 inch composite spacer under the carb. I also have the rod and jet kit for the carb. I ended up putting it back to original jets and rods as anything i did to it made it worse. I did leave the lighter step up springs in it though. And since the cam change, i have done nothing to the carb except the idle air adjustment. I dont have a flooding problem but the bouncy fuel pressure is bothersome. Ill keep tinkering with it and get it figured out. |
