how to remove moulding?
I am about to send my 72 to the body shop. How do I remove the lower body trim? It looks like it is the stick on clip style. Do I slide something under the edge of the trim to get the clips to release? Is there a trick to removing adhesive tape that the clips are stuck on with. I am talking about the lower trim with the woodgrain in particual.
Also would like to know how to release the clips on the tail light bezels as well.

The lower molding is held on with studs and nuts on the ends with the sticky tape clips in the middle. I use a sharp putty knife to remove the tape and then mineral spirits or enamel reducer to clean the glue off.
The tailight bezels are a bear to get the clips out on. I use a split tool that is made for removing inner door panels. The clip has to be pulled on and not the chrome. The clips acts like fishooks and are not easy to remove. Good luck! Jim |

I didn't find any adhesive holding my trim on when i took all of it off. The only thing were the nuts and bolts like stated above and the spring loaded clips that JimKshortstep4x4 mentioned on the tail lights, the were everywhere on the trim that a nut and bolt wasn't.

removed all the molding on BB B4 it was painted , The lower molding had nuts behind it on the bed and the doors .
I didn't remove the inner fender and was able to get the front fender pieces off with a putty knife and a Spuger .The Spuger also woks great for removing the Taillight beasel clips ( but some of mine were weak and they came out easy) I know what is a Spudger it's a 1 dollar tool used by Telephone men to dig threw and sort out wires . You can find them at a Alarm supply store .I'll post a Pic if you need to see it.Just a piece of plastic about the size of a pencil with a right angle heavy wire on the end . Found a pic but they are selling for 5 bucks
