is it just me or do chevy HD's resemble our trucks?
i noticed his the first time i saw one in motor trend, i wonder what guy at gm was responsible for the look of the front of teh HD's, and i wonder what pic he looked at to get the idea, the HD hoods look alot liek a newer version o the 69-72's, just wodering if i was the only one who noticed this.

when I was younger, i always thought the early '80's F-150 kinda had the same lines as the '67/'68. Always faciniated me. Ford got there #1 seller from an old Chevy design.

I wish it would repeat already!!! I can't stand the look of the 90's up crap. Start building '70 Chevelles, 57 Chevy's again! Awe, they wouldn't do it right anyhow. The days of the good cars/trucks is over.

Thats the first thing my friend said when I parked my 71 next to his 2002 HD. I think the Chevy design team is getting better. Except for the Avalanche though. Who the heck came up with that one?

The Avalanche is Sweet!!! I would take an Avalanche over any other car out there, except maybe an Hummer, and even then it would be a toss up. They look better in real life than they do in pictures and on tv

I'm with you man, the Avalanche and the Aztec are 2 of the most BUTT UGLY vehichles on the road. Maybe there's some good ideas on them, but the packaging sucks! IMO, it's gonna take a little while for the GM designer's to dig theirselves out of this hole.

I think they did that so we will get used to seeing them on the road, They kinda look like electric vehicles and our government wants them on the road. Not that they cut on polution, they just polute in another place.

I'm with most of you on the Avalance, however you had better get use to the front end. That is what all Chevy trucks will look like in the near future. I believe the 03 models will get the Av headlight set up. As I understand it the Chevy and GMC will part ways with styling more than they have in some time. As the Chevy will take on the Av look to appeal to the younger crowd the GMC will remain close to what they are to appeal to the RV'ers and Boaters etc. Sport vs Classic styling.
I like the front ends on the Av's so I think the trucks will look good. Just don't bolt on all that crappy plastic on the sides. I own a new GMC HD and I love the looks of the truck. Glad they are not planning to change them too much. ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side. I have an '01 2500 HD with the 8.1 engine which is 496 cubic inches. It runs real strong. It will pass just about anything on the road except the gas stations. I'm not about to crash it, but it is for sale.

The ONLY circumstances under which I would like them ucking fugly Avalanches is if all that bulky "armor" all over the place was actually made out of some good sheet metal, then it'd be like driving a tank! (in other words, like driving a 67-72!)

some of you guys would get a kick working at my work, the AV are real nice lowerd with there "armor" painted the same as the truck, and i think they look kinda cool, they give you this feeling were you dont have to worrie about scratch and F'n somthing up
but the 2500 HD are bad MF. i luv them and the crew cabs are bad, also the escalade AWD with whipple supercharger, mmmmmmmmm, DAM IT. i made a mess, brb ------------------ Mechanic @ California Concept Britney: 1970 2wd K/5 Blazer (Frame up) Jessica: 1967 2wd SWB (pops daily driver) Helga: 1972 4x4 3/4ton LWB (my daily driver) AIM:Alexmart1 Mountain View, Cali |

On the 2003 Chevy Avalanche's, the body armor will be optional. I dont remember where I saw this, but I believe it was on one of the auto news websites.

I agree with the HD's looking like 69-72's
I also think the my 2000 1/2 ton silverado kinda looks like my '67 ...ok, only kinda.. My thoughts on the Avalanche front ends are YUK...but I do like the Escalade frontends. First time I saw one was in the Parking ramp at the Denver Airport, almost missed my flight. I still don't get the "changeable" thing, WHY? If GM changes the Silverados to the Av' front end, I'll either trade mine in on a GMC in a year or so, or just keep it... You know... Slam it, 18's, hard bed cover, Cowl hood....Oh wait, maybe I should use all that money to finish the '67 projects... ------------------ Bryan in South Dakota ------------------ -67 CST originally a 327-4bbl(missing)...w/TH400 w/AC,PS,PB,3pc bucket seat, small window,LWB. orig. drk blue w/blue interior. needs serious restoration -67 CST(plain janer) 283/MT LWB -2000 Silverado 1/2ton 2wd x-cab w/4th door ***future projects*** A 67/68 CST,SWB,350/TH350,Lowered 5/7, rollin' on 17's, not air bagged.using above listed 67 CST (janer)

I do like the HD style but as for the rest of the GM line-up - I will stick with my 69 K20 and my 95 GMC.
And what was Dodge thinking - the previous style was very aggressive and they went and screwed it up too! ------------------ 1969 C20 4x4 with roughly 6" lift and 35's residing near Rose Hill, Kansas Yukon Jack's Web Pages
