Couple of bucket questions

First Im not talking about buddy buckets, so lets toss them to the side.

Ive heard the term sport buckets and utility buckets. Are these the two styles of buckets, or is there more?

My guess is what people call sports buckets have upholstery front and rear. And Utility buckets have the plastic backs. Is this it when it comes to buckets?

Are utility buckets wider? I know my panel originally had them although I never saw them in it. The owner before me said that the passenger side tilted forward. And I feel like Ive read this on the board before. Maybe in Blazers all buckets fold forward on the passenger side?

Few basic questions, I appreciate any help you have ... Thanks!

Re: Couple of bucket questions

Utility buckets are more squared off, wider and have metal backs. Sport buckets are usually the ones you see with the scroll work on them. Sport buckets have the plastic backs unless from a pickup, then no backs.
Blazers had tip up pass seats and I would assume panels would also.

Re: Couple of bucket questions

Interesting. So If a sport bucket was in a burb it had a plastic back, but if it was in a truck the upholstery stops, sort of like a truck bench?

And utility buckets are wider. Does that mean if you wanted a stock truck console and you were using utility buckets the console wouldn't work?

You are correct on your first statement.
I have heard a console will fit, but very tight with utility seats.
