Trailing Arm Question
I'm going to be painting some new old trailing arms I got. I don't want the inside of the trailing arm (between the two layers) to eventually become full of rust like the old ones. Any suggestion on how to fill the gap to prevent water from getting in there? I was going to use sillicone... Has anyone ever done this.

Some people have welded them together so the seam is filled, maybe a seam sealer would work for ya...

You don't want to use sillicone!! Sillicone attracts moisture and will make your paint "fish-eye". I would use rust-mort or some other rust inhibiting product that you can spray on and let run between the sides. Do it 2 or 3 times for best coverage, letting it set up for 2 to 3 hrs between aplications. Then let them dry for a couple days and paint. Doing nothing to them before painting them would be better than using sillicone on them. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
