HO Vortec 350?
I recently purchased a short block for a 350 build for my '68. I was told it was a vortec out of a '98 truck. The casting number, 10243880 checked out. I know the 880 blocks were used for the L31 engines and also a few zz4'. However once I tore it down I noticed the pistons had and H-O stamped onto them. Does this mean this block was one of the few 880's that were used as HO 350's? Does this really mean anything at all powerwise or was this just a factory stamp for manufacturing purposes?

Re: HO Vortec 350?
the L31 came in 2 configurations 2 bolt main 1/2 - 3/4 trucks and vans and 4bolt main 3/4-1 ton trucks and vans all were roller cam , the 350 HO in witch you are refering to does have the Vortec style heads but is flat tappet motor.

Re: HO Vortec 350?
So the H-O on the pistons really means nothing, its just random manufacturing letters?

Re: HO Vortec 350?
Maybe you are reading it upside down and it is really "OH"?
