Mounting the bed, rubber, wood, where do they go?
Ok, I am about to mount my bed (test fit basically) and I got the kit with wood blocks and rubber pads. Where do the rubber pads go, under the blocks on the frame, or on the top of the blocks under the bed crossmember?

The rubber pads go below the blocks, on the frame side. At least that's how they've all been when I've disassembled original unmolested trucks. The factory nailed the rubber to the block, but you can glue them instead. I only have a photo of a panel setup but it's the same arrangement:

Ahhhhh, glue the rubber to the block sounds like a good idea. That way when my crew comes to help me put the bed on it will be a little easier.
You know on the front bolt on the AD the bolt goes all the way from the top of the wood through the top and bottom of the frame rail? The front bolts are about a 16" long! Brian

What's funny is if they nailed the rubber to the block, didn't that defeat the purpose of the rubber to the metal frame? I could staple it, I have a pneumatic stapler that would make short order of that.

i actually just got the all rubber blocks instead of the wood. I figure they will degrade probably the same as the wood will, but add a little give in flexing/shifting of the bed to frame.

Here's an assembly illustration I just ran across. Again, rubber on frame side:

I just happen to have a new reproduction AD bed block kit here. They are 2-1/4" square. However guys say they usually have to trim the height down. On my panel truck I cut them down to 1-5/8" tall. Not sure if that applies to pickups however. I jacked the body up until it was square to the frame and then trimmed the blocks until they friction fit. Length and width aren't that crucial but height is.
