What did you get done this weekend 8/11/19 edition
Ive been trying to sell my house these days http://www.broometeam.auto.remax.com...ino/index.html
so I couldn't do a thing today as we had an open house, but Saturday I began to sand down the bed floor on the 76 because I am going to bedliner it.. found it was pitted so I prepared truck for the ride to get the bed floor and tailgate sand blasted My son was off on Thursday so we started working on his truck the 87. Its a beat up mud truck but dad started cutting and son welded and we replaced his left rocker panel... we have to do both cab corners yet and some body work but it was definitely a step in the right direction. How about you all?

Nothing this weekend but earlier in the week I put in a new starter motor. Used the smaller one from a '98 Tahoe and it works great.

Put a new battery in Big Red, and took her to the Hot Summer Nights cruise in. Biggest one yet, for our small town, Bellefontaine Ohio. We had 354 vehicles!
On my 2006 Colorado, I installed a backup camera, that wirelessly shows thru the Garmin GPS. I desperately needed this, with the cap on the truck bed, it was hard to see directly behind me.

Got my newly rebuilt/modified 250 fired up and cam broke in. I still have to get the new exhaust done, hood back on and AC sorted out, but she runs again after 6 months.

Picked up a Mercruiser 160, AKA Chevy 250 marine motor, added to my collection of 6-bangers.
Brush hogged around the parts truck collection. Time to 'thin the herd' when you can't find them in the grass...

Re: What did you get done this weekend 8/11/19 edition
Attempted to install a few goodies in the turbo 400. I say "attempted" because I ended up pulling a thread from one of the servo bolt holes and it turns out the valvebody has a non-stock 1-2 shift valve that's supposed to allow for full manual control, which I don't want. Helicoiled the bolt hole, but now have to wait for a used vb with the correct 1-2 valve.

Bought another dual snorkel air cleaner. Going to make a 'closed' fresh air set-up for the dually:

Picked up my 13th square, hopefully things get lucky with this one.
87 K20 5.7 TBI 700r4, good bones to work with, needs floor and kick panel patches.

Re: What did you get done this weekend 8/11/19 edition
Had to delay getting the pipes on the truck today as there was a fuel leak out of the top of the tank. Of course an almost fuel tank. Drained it, dropped it and found the one hose from the sending unit was rotten. Since my sending unit was acting funky and I happen to have a new one in the stock pile, decided to replace it as well as putting new hoses one. I got it back in and there does not appear to be any leaks now. I can't tell by smell if the vapor leak is also gone or not. So hopefully I'll be able to tell in morning once shop airs out.

Re: What did you get done this weekend 8/11/19 edition
That is actually a Fisher minute mount setup, pretty rare for a square to have that setup.
Those turbines are 16.5s, the BFGs are in good shape and not all weather cracked so I am going to run them for now.

Re: What did you get done this weekend 8/11/19 edition
that is RARE !
are the rims TRUE western wheel brand or the knock off brands ? i have western wheels in both turbine and D-windows . here is my old plow truck and then version 2.0 with parts from old . i run fisher conventional frame work with a 8ft and 9ft blade i have both . i swapped in a early mm electric clutch belt drive pump and joystick with the switch on the back and love it . pic 1 = not long after she was put together . pic 2 = few years of working later with my other western wheels the D-windows pic 3 here shortened down length faze as the frame was real bad . loved it plowing but missed my 131.5 wheel base . pic 4 & 5 new truck to replace old after 12-13 years of use . build thread in the 4x4 section here . and NO i didnt try to make the new be the same color as the old . that gm blue finds me all the time . ha ha ha

I have plowed the same driveway with 3 different trucks 82 K30 dually with a Cummins swap, pushed snow the easiest with power to spare but was hard to maneuver. 84 K20 6.2 Diesel with a 4sp, did ok but a auto trans would have been nicer. 86 K10 shortbed, had a feeble 305 and 700r4 but was easy to whip around and move snow with. We will see how this 87 K20 does this winter. TBI should be nice, hit the key let it warm up.
