New Guy

Hello boys and girls, I have been checking out the site for the past couple of weeks and there is tons of great information here and I am now proud to be a member. I have a 1980 "Big 10" Silverado that I have had going on a year now. It is my daily driver and I love it. The wife and I also use it to go into the Texas hill country and to the river when we can...the two tanks do come in handy but I hate filling them now! I will leave you with some picks but for now the BBQ is calling...time to light some wood.

The cab shot shows the seats that came with the truck..2001 buckets. I had to take them out...You should not have to duck your head when getting into a truck...plus when in my head was 1 inches from the headliner...I found a bench at a junk yard.

Welcome to the board!
Truck looks nice, do you have carpet or the rubber mat inside?
I have been thinking about going to the rubber mat cause I mess carpet up real fast.

How high are the seats and are you interested in selling them?
Any pictures of the brakcets, maybe someone () can buy the seats from you and make different brackets that allow the seat to sit lower.
My seat is pure sh*t. I have to keep putting covers on it and I am missing a bracket on the front passenger side. Only (3) bolts holding my seat in.

Phoenix, I got rid of the seats when I got the bench. When the previous owner installed the buckets he welded them to a 1/4 inch steel plate and then bolted the plate. Even taking the seats off the plate would only drop them 1/4 inch at the most and that just wouldn't have been enough. Those seats have a plastic "skirt" that go all the way around that has to sit on the hump in the middle. I took the truck to a couple diffrent metal shops but the general response was that it wasn't even worth it. I am 5'10 - 5'11 and I would have to duck my head everytime I got into the truck. When sitting in the truck I could extend my neck up and touch my head on the head liner. I found a yard that had a bench and the belts and basicly traded them out. You should have seen them pull out the seats with that metal plate. I don't know what they were going to do with it because the brakets will be tough to save if you try to take it off the plate...they did a heavy duty job welding the seats to that plate.
