Wiw 1969 gmc
I have this truck that needs a new home!
Does anyone have ideas on current value and/or interest in this truck? Has anyone used a reputable site for selling? I do have a clear title and current NON-OP status. Suggestions and comments appreciated. Thank you. Last edited by Stray10up; 08-11-2019 at 09:54 AM. |

Did you try NADA.com?

You may get some idea from watching how that sale goes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Chevro...cAAOSwEkJdRKag I checked NADA and got nothing even close. Haggerty's didn't have anything on one either.

Re: Wiw? 1968 gmc cabover dumptruck
Thanks alot for the information ironworking! I will be watching EBAY on the 1970 model. Thanks for the link.
Yeah I tried NADA and Hagerty prior. Typed in different arrangements of words searching Google also, not getting much information for cab over specificaly. I would NOT think this is the only survivor of this model? So far when it comes to the larger commercial trucks (C40 and above), decoders on the web seem to stop at 1ton models (C30). Another interesting piece of this truck from what I understand, is it was used primarly as a forest service fire pump truck of some sort. I actually have the 500 gallon water tank that would be used instead of the dump bed. Any pictures or information would be greatly appreciated, thank you. |

Good morning everyone, curious if anyone has or knows this model truck. Any stories or photographs of this type of truck when it was newer or currently?

If you're not in a big hurry, you should join up with ATHS, American Truck Historical Society, and list it in their "Wheels of Time" bi-monthly. Or, list with Hemmings Motor News. It's very collector worthy material, especially in it's current configuration or back to tanker. TDC! That's Too _ Cool! I'd love to own it.
Tell us more about it for the getting value part.

Re: Wiw? 1968 gmc cabover dumptruck
Seen one restored on a guys property. It was a orange tanker with "GULF" orange and blue moniker. It was 100% new and beautiful. I'm with Tim, Would love to have one as soon as I win the lottery or turn back time.

500 gallon water tank. This was originally on the truck prior to the dump bed.

Re: Wiw? 1968 gmc cabover dumptruck
Are you sure it isn’t a tilt cab? I came across a Chevy recently that was identical except for the badging. It was a tilt. May affect your search.

Re: Wiw? 1968 gmc cabover dumptruck
I think the cabovers don’t tilt. They also resemble the the standard cabs a lot more, but shorter. You should be able to google more information using Chevy tilt cab.

Re: Wiw? 1968 gmc cabover dumptruck
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they stopped making cabovers in 1966. 67-72 was called conventional cab, low cab forward, and tilt cab.
