Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

should clean up real nice .

i custom made my own TIMBREN bump stop mount kit saturday and installed the used bump mounts i got off ebay for 55 bucks shipped . they were just over 1 year old .

then today sunday i slid the bri-mar 8ft dump bed insert in and bolted it down and hooked up the power . now i just need some 2ft tall side's and header and off to the county compost site for free tree chippings from the tub grinder that eats all the tree's and branches they get in . i have been spreading it all out out back to fill in under the pine tree's and dead space i dont want to mow lawn .

i think the old k30 is ready for some real work .

Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

After waiting for parts for the last couple days, I finally finished installing the Redhead gearbox, PSC power steering pump, and the XJ steering shaft. Had a call on Friday that my new wheels arrived at the shop so I ran up and grabbed those. They are off to powder coating Monday morning.

Grease and inspected the pile. Wiped up some oil and replaced a missing collector bolt.

Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

Started up the 87 diesel, drove it around, took some pictures. Wrote up the sale ad for FB and CL. Just couldn't convince myself to push the button... Still torn about selling whole or using some of the parts on the K20 I want to build.

I got my Red Head steering box in on Monday. Going to try & get it swapped in place ASAP so I can re-clean the mess on that side from the seepage of the OE/worn box.

Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

more goodys for the dump insert today . corner brackets so i can slide all 3 parts out separately when i don't want sides on .

2ft tall side kit i whipped up . just made a small goof and need some longer bolts for the 1 set of brackets .

good note :...the truck rides great with the timbrens in the back . i did a partal load of #2 crusher run gravel for the guy next door last night . 2,650 lbs no problems . then today i got another tree grinding load but no sides yet and she slid out good .

Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

Took my ls/turbo combo to have some addition tuning done after I turned the boost up. Figured out it was running on 7 cylinders. Fuel injector adaptor was bad. I thought it may have been missing but with this being my first turbo car, big cam and 4" exhaust I wasn't sure. At 13lbs of boost it is really moving.

Nice, I need to do this to my K20, then I can get rid of the K2500, only reason I have been keeping the K2500 is because the ez-dumper is in the back.

Re: What did you get done this week 8/18/19 edition

Figured out why I could hear my fan blowing, but barely any air movement. Truck was ac, but I converted it to heat only. Made a block off plate for the old ac hole in the firewall. Finally realized the only place air was entering the heater box was through the old heater hose holes under the fan box. So I cut a 3x5 hole under the box, opposite the resistor, and I now have air velocity.

Been driving it for a week now, so still working out the bugs.

Drove it last night for the first time with the 5 speed. Totally different truck. Can't wait to get it back on the dyno to see how much the rear wheel HP has changed. Was always sluggish with the TH400. Now it feels like a 454.
