Hey Bnoon Thanks for that information.That is what I was contemplating wether to cut lines and attach flexible hosing to resolve issue or was thinking about just bending the lines as they are metal. My DD motor mounts are sliders and are suppose to give me 2 inches to adjust but its all ready in its most rearward position.Gonna check out that turbo build of yours bnoon thanks man for coming in and lending a hand .

The whole engine fit just fine. The only thing that had to be done was bend the top part of the frame on the passenger side to fit the exhaust manifold. I wish I would have just put up the money and bought manifolds that were know to fit but oh well, it works.

My transmission points down at 5*, was thinking of raising it some but there is a little hump on the back where I can barely get my finger between the floor of the cab and the trans. What kind of space do you have?

Hey man I have a good 2 fingers and a half spacing between floor and transmission case contact point.By this i mean 2 fingers stacked up on top of each other,but theres is a spot where there is a tight fit and it is near the front where i can only get 1 finger in between.Its right where the floor turns into the center hump where firewall is.My tranny and engine look a little like a cheeto in that they look kinda of warped they way they are mounted cause with dirty dingo 73-87 truck mounts the engine is really low mount and and tranny is strait back with pan hanging at weird angle it looks like. Tranny case is painted flat black so maybe this is just truck optical illusion. Everything is mounted right but just looks crazy a LSX drive train in it haha . Near my old house there was a movie theatre,and this parking lot had some mean speed bump very haterish ruin your day and vehicle type of speed hump.Where you have to drive 0 mph in normal vehicle now imagine my dropped truck..Yes sir my control arms would lightly scrape if i went too fast or didnt go at a angle up the speed bump.My engine and tranny pans are higher that this so I am not really worried about clearence. My drop is only 4/6 i believe No c-notch just normal drop and it doesnt hit on the frame at all .

--Update

I have now recieved driveshaft.

I am waiting to tow truck to exhaust shop and get mufflers and oxygen sensors and tail pipes put on, right now all I have is the headers bolted on and need everything collector back.

I sprayed underbody rubber spray on the inside floor of truck after a light sanding and Rustoleum primering.This was followed by Dynamat Extreme being placed on top of rubber coating.I used exactly 36 sq ft of the dynamat sound deadening material.Dynamat sells a 36 sq ft box and this is perfect size for entire floor.i found that is was cheapest at 150 at sonicelectronix but had a problem with them and now order through summit using price match since they list it for 250 so yeah price match it is.

I went to pick n pull and found a 1985 c20 bench seat and after cleaning it for 3 hours i decided to pull a bracket off and go test fit and SOB did not fit!! Next day went to pick n pull and found a 1979 c10 bench seat. This had the brackets that had the downwards bend i needed. I read on a thread here that the 1973-1979 brackets are different than the 1980-1987. Now just gotta reupholster the seat as its seen better days.As I was leaving yard a guy approached me offering his reupholster services to me at 180 for vinyl and whatever oem used originally.We will see.

I have new dashboard from classic industries and door panels from lmc truck, i hope the color matches

Saving money for gauges now, i am thinking auto meter or dakota digital have also been looking at speedhut. Undecided still trying to be cost effective here but also precise.

Still gotta finish power steering lines, i recieved new pulley and adaptor fitting from dirty dingo.

Been real busy and havent done anything to truck recently. Now iits time to finish this and get her kicking a$$

Here is the dynamat pic, the pic of thr correct 1979 seat although beat up will soon be freshened up. The bracket pic on truckfloor is of the 1985 c20 that didnt fit...

Really glad those ebay headers fit cause those look just like the ones i got! Does your driver side header seem about an inch longer than your passenger side?

Yeah actually it does. I got mine through ebay, i had purposefully chosen the ones from a company supposedly based in Dallas or Irvine texas but when shipped they came from China it only took 3 days to recieve them here in California. 189 plus 15 shipping i think it was. Only bad thing is they dont have a bung for the oxygen sensors but i had ordered like 4 pairs of headers which didnt fit untill i called up dirty dingo and they did me a solid by telling me about those headers fitting perfect without frame cutting !

I actually contacted a seller in Texas for the same reason but ended up ordering straight from China because his DIDNT come with collectors. The ones I ordered came with collectors with O2 bungs and were $185 with free shipping. Only took them two weeks to get here too.

Hey ben any chance of getting a picture of the shift linkage area near the headers?? Did you struggle with the headers being in the way? Gonna take truck to get piping from collectors back will see about next step. What nut did you use to actually secure the ahift linkage to tranny mounting.bolt? I am also having trouble with not being able to tighten the nut because socket is to nig to fit inside of shift linkage piece..lol i am going to a nuts and bolts place monday and seeing if i cant find a nut with smaller diameter.

Houston Ben big thanks for those pictures.I see the issue is my headers, i assume you used the stock manifolds? Mine snake rearward first and then bend down therefore are directly in the way of shift linkage. Well back to the laboratory.Thanks ben and hope all is well in the H with all the rain recently.

lost password for this screenname but when i opened up old laptop the browser has password saved. i eveen tried going into email reset and no go i guess when i had phone stolen a while back it hda the email for this account

So i was burning wires like a mofo.even got mosfires and blinking check engine lights
This was caused by the piece of shyt chinese made headers .
I was forced to buy oem 2011 camaro exhaust manifolds.

Hey man you still around. Whats the story on your headers? Any problems with burning wires due to permanent contact between boot and header tube?

ATTENTION!!!!!

For anybody using DIRTY DINGO motor mounts i now can finally announce that I have found a pair of long tube headers that fit. My engine is slid all the way back and these headers fit right in. I DID have to use some angled msd spark plug wires.CLUUUUTCH!

The Brand is called SPEED ENGINEERING. Their website is www.speed-engineering.com .I am so stoked. Big thanks to SS MOTORSPORTS in Fresno,ca for welding my custom tig welded stainless steel exhaust and engine harness problems

I am now running long tube headers with 3 inch collectors and true dual exhaust no x pipe 3"stainless all the way back with 2 magnaflow #12867 mufflers. They are 5 inch round case 14 in long case 20 inch long total length and 3" inch in/out .They are loud but not alot of droning but when you hit the gas you will notice,they sound nice really exotic makes you turn around because it makes you think what is that and what kind of engine work does it have. Not annoying. This thing sounds like a fire breathing banshee and it still needs a tune.

Gotta get down to LA area and get a tune asap,but thinking of ordering a texas speed VVT stage 3 cam and springs and rods and whatever else to put in before i tune it that way i dont have to worry about retunes .Also before tune need to order some stuff from summitracing to make a cold air intake tube.I am thinking spectre brand. Right now I have my mass air flow sensor mounted on throttle body basically and yeah I am throwing hella lean fuel codes p0171 p0174, so yeah need to get that fixed.My truck has battery passenger side so all cold air intake kits that are made from gm trucks wont fit me so yeah need to make that tube go drivers side!

Nope,you need to use wires with a 135* angle boot. There are several cheaper options if you check summit or jegs but I went with these.

yep I saw those long tubes on their ebay store but was afraid they wouldn't fit. Now that I know they will I may put these shorty headers on my avalanche and get those longtubes sometime in the near future. And btw.....

Just put a L83 with 6L80 trans in my 72 C10. Trying to solve which way to go on hooking up linkage to column. Don't want the "slop" that a lot of guys talk about in the selector lever which I think has nothing to do with linkage but the column.
WFhich way are you going?
