Need Help
I have the front end apart and don't have the grill in my possession right now. I am putting on a condenser and heat exchanger on the front end, but wanted to know how much space is in front of the core support "X"(basically the front of the core support) and the grill? Anyone have any pics and/or measurements?
Thanks you in advance.

Re: Need Help
If you are adding a condensor and cooler in front of radiator, you will need to cut the "x" brace out. This is what Vintage Air calls for, what I did.

Re: Need Help
You don't lose any structural integrity doing this?

Re: Need Help
You do loose structural integrity and gain a few squeaks. There isn't much of an option to do it and leave them though from what I have seen.

Re: Need Help
If the truck originally had a V8 engine where the radiator was farther back from the grill you might be able to do what you want to do, but if it was originally a six, even with the X brace removed I doubt that you could get anything other than the condenser to fit behind the grill. I spaced my X brace out almost an inch to clear my condenser but then had to tweek my spacers slightly because the bottom of my grill hit the X brace. 57 truck BTW.
