Re: The Chevrolet and GMC original wheel thread
These are 15" 3 piece 8 lug wheels used between '60 and '65 20 series. Unfortunately, they were not strong enough for fully loaded vehicles and were recalled in the late 60's. GM replaced these 3 piece 15" wheels with 2 piece 15" wheels free of charge. (photo courtesy of KillerBee)

Re: The Chevrolet and GMC original wheel thread
More multi-piece wheels here. Not sure on the dates of introduction or extinction, but these 17" eight lug wheels are interesting in that when fitted with 7.50-17 tires, the overall diameter is equal to the giant 19.5 wheels with 8R19.5 tires.

Re: The Chevrolet and GMC original wheel thread
Thanks for posting oem4me. Yes, those are the optional, and very heavy duty 3 piece 17" 8 lug with the correct hub profile for '60 thru '68 20 and 30 series. And yes, they are large. It seems your '62 keeps improving with time of ownership, IMO, its very hard to beat that survivor look!
