Re: Question
This is going to seem stupid as all get out but if you loosely bolt one end of of the brace to the fender to the brace and move the other end of the brace around you will figure out where it needs to be attached.
For the life of me I can't remember if I have those braces hooked up on my 48 so dragging it out of the shed and jacking it up to take photos probably won't work.

Re: Question
well I don't have a brace (bracket) yet. I ordered a pair.
And the bracket on the fender is on the rusted piece I cut off, the new PATCH panel does not have a bracket. I guess I should have explained it better, my bad. Last edited by MD2020; 12-06-2018 at 10:49 AM. |

Re: Question
goes from the bottom of the outer fender to the fender/cowl bolt
this front end had them intact, usually the cowl side bolt is rotted and you can see is behind the rod, so when I take them apart it sometimes gets cut. edit: not to be pet peevy but can you put your question in the title, or at least a summary? a question is implied by the post, and posts that are titled "question" arent easy to skim and answer, posts that are titled "fender support rod" show up in search results for the next guy. just my cruddy opinion worth what it cost.

Re: Question
I hesitate to say anything because I am as easily misunderstood as often as I open my mouth, something about my direct manner makes everyone edgy, especially in person. there is rarely any malice in my comments, my wife calls me "polarizing" and I dont think she means the lens effect.
but I will give MD2020, credit, he spelled out "question" and didnt just use a single question mark. it can be tough to ask the same question twice, I get it!

Re: Question
I know, MD202 prolly has the answer and we have already chastised his thread title, BUT, the thread start is pretty vague with no mention of what he is working on so less answers come in and more thread skips happen. just saying, a better description will yield more answers and even a few pics prolly.
