3/4 & 1/2 ton frames
Are 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton frames the same? From looking at them they seem to be, want to use my '85 3/4 frame for my '86 shortbox 1/2 ton after shortening of course. Just have to switch the suspension of course.

I think so except for the 3/4 ton has a different guage steel for more strength.

They are the same. Is something wrong with the shortbed frame? If not I would use that one!

I believe that the 3/4 ton frame is also taller than a 1/2 ton frame.

Thanks, I'll have to check the height of the frame walls. The shortbox frame is rusted right through on both sides right behind the cab. I was thinking of cutting those sections out and replacing them, but I'm dying to get this truck done now that it's warm here, so I'm trying to find the faster way.

aside from the length, they're identical! not taller, not thicker, etc.

Cool, I hope that's the case! I'll hopefully be able to check it all out this weekend. I'll report back what I find.
