Rear axle questions
Q1:
(EDIT: IGNORE Q1 PLEASE, I FOUND A YOUTUBE VIDEO THAT SHOWS NICELY) How does one remove these circlips that hold the sideshafts in (Pic attached)? Q2: I have a 12 bolt / leaf spring rear axle (4.11) with 5-stud side shafts from, I believe, a '73 onwards. Would these sideshafts fit into a my '70 12 bolt 3.77 coil spring rear axle that currently has 6-stud side shafts? The drums of the leaf spring axle are significantly larger than the drums on my '70. It seems I will have to also transfer the backing plate and larger drums over to my '70 as well - if the side shafts will fit. I'm OK with that. I want to retain the 3.77 ratio as I'm aiming for the lowest possible revs when cruising, calculated to be 2100rpm @ 75mph with 235/85/16 tyres, and 0.7 4th on the 700R4

Re: Rear axle questions
Q1: Easy
Q2: yes! Having seen how easy it is, I quickly pulled side shafts from both axles and verified for myself. Really pleased!! I want to convert to 5-stud because I want to fit original 16" steel wheels with hub caps to my C10. I want the external appearance to be very close to original - the way I remembered my Grandad's truck on the farm. Under the skin though....
