Exclamation Thanks for ALL the help

Hey guys I know many of you have helped a lot with all of my "FUEL" related drama.

Short story: I loaned my truck to a "friend" who was doing home renovations. He had the truck over a year and basically let it sit...under a tree. One tank ended up rusting out completely the other is beginning the process. This caused the fuel lines to degrade and subsequently the fuel pump and of course the carb.

I replaced one of the tanks (the really bad one), the fuel pump, numerous lines and added a nice fuel filter to keep things clean.

I could never get that Quadrajet running right, either with a store bought rebuild or my own. But I just bought a new Edelbrock 1405 (with Q-jet adapter plate) and the truck is running like a dream. It started right up. The only adjustment was the curb idle. I can't believe how much time I wasted with the Q-jet.

So I wanted to say thanks for all the help. It was frustrating but I think I got the big stuff done.

The one thing on my list that I do need to get done is the kickdown on the throttle linkage for the carb. What is the best way to adjust this?

Do you have a pic of the cable?
There are a couple different ones that are adjusted slightly differently.

It's the kind of cable with a button. Looks like it is a TH350:

Re: Thanks for ALL the help

That doesn’t mean much.
Take a pic of it.

Yes I do know.
Turbo 350 has two styles. Pop up tee or push down button. Each adjusts differently.
I could explain both but with a pic it makes it so much easier.
