Fuel Line fittings questions...
I am running 3/8 steel fuel line from my relocated rear tank, up to near my SBC where i would then like to go with a short piece of braided stainless line to connect into my mechanical fuel pump (which has a hose barb fitting as well)...
Question is, what fittings can i use to go from the steel hardline to a stainless flex line.. I was looking at something simple like the AN hose finisher clamps...would this be sufficient on both the stainless flex hose to hard line connection, as well as the braided hose to fuel pump? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KLJSVKK...v_ov_lig_dp_it |

Re: Fuel Line fittings questions...
Why stainless covered hose?
Yes those clamps would work. Unless you want to assemble the hose ends with ferule compression ends or crimp fittings, then you'd need the proper tools or send them out. You can hand assemble hydraulic type fittings from Russell if your looking for a more pro looking job. I'd get a hose barb on the pump side and bubble flare the tube side and use these - https://www.ebay.com/itm/70PCS-Stain...r/264064423091 They look great for clamps.

Re: Fuel Line fittings questions...
Remove the barb fitting and convert to AN fittings on pump. remove the metal line and go with braided AN all the way to the tank.... I did...…...

Re: Fuel Line fittings questions...
Russell, Earl's, and Aeroquip all offer adapters to mate inverted flare to AN. Search their catalogs online, or go to Summit Racing and search on "AN to inverted flare."

Re: Fuel Line fittings questions...
I go through a lot of braided hose for my drag cars. I use bulk XRP and Earl's hose. For my other hot rod projects, I use the left-over Earl's Pro-Lite black braided hose (pretty easy to work with, and durable with a subtle look). Here are a couple of pics of my Pontiac builds using the Earl's Pro-Lite hoses for the fuel lines. I would also recommend going with AN fittings.
