Question for Fast68 (Not ment to be a dig)
Randy,
I notice you part out or junk a ton of truck stuff. I was just wondering what you drive or are building that you go through all these parts? When I built my first car (an 81 Z28) I went through a ton of parts cars, but it seems like you have even got me beat! Just wondering dude.... Orlando

very good question, a few ppl here probably want to know also:
im a vehicle-aholic, i am trying to quit, i have been addicted to all this for the past almost 8 years have had over 50 now of all kinds, nothing special vehicles, no camaros no chevelles nonovas no none of that good stuff, im talking junk trash beater crap, ive had one of about everything, anything from car to vans to a limo, to all kinds, i need to quit, ive wasted thousands of dollars and a good part of my younger life on this crap, everything i ge tis always junk rusted crap, i really dont know why i do this, there is nothing here that is any good to get hands on, its all gone, no 4x4's no 67-72 no 73-80 hardly at all, no nothing, my life has always been vehicles and vehicles alone, and parts too and delaing wheeling, never have ever teken ther time out for any schooling or to find a girl or anything, sometimes dont even eat because i prefer to be out cutting up vehicles or wasting more money i dont have on messing with them, so therefore i have missed out on the running around and having typical teenage fun that others have my age trying to change that by quitting this crap for once, if i could only get rid of all this i could then maybe have a normal typical life for a person my age, maybe,,,,, Last edited by Fast68Chevy; 06-04-2002 at 01:48 PM. |

I hesitated to reply to this.Im not sure on the exact question.alot of us guys buy extra trucks, cars because the are cheap, money can be made, and you get some parts you need or extra parts.I prefer to cut one up than sell whole, usually more money, and i can get something out of it.Unfortunately in Randys area it seems only stuff is later cars, down here i se from 50's on road everyday, ask Randy about a 90 Chevy their door skins flapping. So early stuff is rare.id say 80% of all my parts head east.
Randy i dont think it was 8 years of learning skills, and knowledge the things you do out there will help you when doing something else.Just do the school thing move to around a city where thes good work, dont goto a factory when it slows they lay-off.Its all a learning experience good or not. |

if anything older than 80 was able to be found and was any $$ to be made off of parting them then i wouldsnt be trying to get the hell out of here to go to school somehow, but i am, there arent any trucks of any years older than 88 and no rwd cars older than late 80s left anymore, gotten worse alot lately, knew it was gonna happen with all the demo derbies and junking going on, but no one cared..
too late now.. its over.. |

Hey Fast
I beg to differ with you. I have and have had a bunch of junk as you call them. I call them and the stuff to go with it, precious metels. You have not been out doing Drugs or staying in trouble with the law ( well maybe had to clean up some of your precious metels but I had to also) You have learned more about the older vehicles in the past eight years than most people will in a life time. You have been doing what you have wanted to do. Most people don't get a chance to do that. The best time of your life is yet to come. You have helped people out just like myself, and I thank you for being a fair person. That will also stay with you the rest of your life. You have made friends when there are PR@KS out there that don't know what a friend is and will never know. I caught up with Crews a couple of weeks ago and I always ask about you and how you are doing. Good things come to good people. You don't have to look very far to see people that have it alot worse. The addiction too. LOL Hang in there buddy. Drop me a line some time when you have the tourch shut off. LOL Herbie
