What a mess!
It's hard to tell from this pic but EVERY wire on my engine harness has been spliced on!
I am still up in the air whether to rewire it myself or buy a harness for it. How hard is it to get the wires out of the fuse box plug?

It is a little tricky to get the spades out of the housing, but if you soak them with a penetrant to soften the tar it helps. I use a needle nose pliers to squeeze the spade so as to clear the "hook" on it and then pull the wire out.
If you don't know what the spades look like I can post a pic tonight. Jim |

use one of those freebie flat screwdrivers that all the tool guys give out. go in the firewall side of plug & depress tang, then tug wire out.
I recommend buying new harness unless you want to do some changing. like adding HEI or elec. fans etc. Todd

A friend of mine heard of another company that makes wiring kits. This one is called It's A Snap Wire and Cable, here's the link to one of the kits...
It's A Snap The ZZ-20 has 20 mini fuses and 21 circuits. The ground wire kit has ground labeled every 4" down wire, GXL flame and oil resistant wire, 100' of 18 gauge wire, and 50' of 14 gauge wire. Price: $149 for the ZZ-20 wiring kit, and $44 for the ground kit. Here's the question... how does this compare to other wiring kits like Painless?
