Nice 66 camper on CL...
...Sorry, didn’t see the Craigslist thread above...
Just sharing, I inquired about it and my lovely wife said you sold yours awhile back, no more campers https://ottumwa.craigslist.org/cto/6968366141.html “Camper has 50,000 miles is 327 4 speed, Had split rims so I put on 1980's dually rims and new tires. has rebuilt carb, lines, belts, hoses, water pump, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, gas tank has been cleaned, spark plugs, wires, points, cap, battery, cables, brakes, cylinders, axel seals and more. Is basically ready to drive and has original 60's-70's camping gear, clothes, dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils and dishes, and even towels and cooking apron. Is basically a museum on the inside and looks like Gma and Gpa went camping in it in the 70's and parked it. 9,000.00 Camper section has new screws and has been re caulked and aluminum polished.” Last edited by 57NAPCO; 09-14-2019 at 06:21 AM. |

Another interesting tidbit.. I inquired about what appeared to be the "2nd" shifter boot behind the 4-speed. Seller stated it was the parking brake, and sure enough - the under-column one isn't there. Is this a C-30 thing or a Class C thing - anyone know? Last edited by jocko; 09-20-2019 at 09:58 AM. |

Re: Nice 66 camper on CL...
and here are a couple of the interior, most of them too close up to be useful, but still. 9K fair price for this rig, could probably get it for a little less (maybe). Wish I had the time to run and grab it (and a place to stuff it for awhile)... but some other day (side note... I don't think I want anyone's old dishes, period correct or not. And I'm guessing Ms. Butterworth is a little crusty by now). BUT, the wood condition looks great. Again, think this is a nice find. (I do not know the seller , just personal opinion)

Re: Nice 66 camper on CL...
I would really, REALLY like to see a "Campers" thread in the pinned threads. Campers and vintage camper shells.
Thanks for taking the time to post these! I really enjoyed looking through them. (and on a side note, some of those plastic bowls were margarine containers from the '70s, that came in several colors--they were marketed as "free bowls" to wives. We had several black ones that got used every Burrito Night, and I've still got the red one I always ate my cereal out of... still the only bowl I use for cereal all these years later!)

Re: the floor brake. That should be the parking brake that is a drum on the back of the trans.

Re: Nice 66 camper on CL...
Thx Jay, I was wondering if the 30s or class c's got that type of brake. I can't imagine parts for that would be easy to find...

I think the park brake on the trans was just an option with the 4 spd. My 64 C20 had that brake and so does my 65 C30 stake bed.

Re: Nice 66 camper on CL...
LOVE that camper!! So VERY glad it's too far away!
"Camper section has new screws and has been re caulked and aluminum polished.” Oh dear... "re-caulked"???? Caulking has no place on a camper. I do hope he means the putty tape was replaced. He's put a deal of work into it if that's the case. Doesn't matter anyway. I certainly don't have that much money lying around. |
