Probably had a hard frontal impact and the p.o. switched out everything from the fenders forward to 71 or 72 GMC. I understand wanting a chevy to be a chevy, but that thing looks so bad ass I couldn't bring myself to change it. But I may be biased.

Edit: Possibly doors also, cuz you have 70-72 sport mirrors too.
Edit again: I see the 69 chevy has the sport mirrors also

Actually you are on top of it! Took me a while to put it all together but, it was a cab forward swap to a '71
