I used a 2002-2010 2500 HD 14 bolt full float rear axle under my 1970 gmc 3/4 ton.. they are 14 bolt 8lug 10.5 ring rear, disc brakes are pretty cheap.. you will have to move the spring pads and at least one shock mount..

On my 69 I used a 14 bolt semi-floating rear with a 9.5 ring gear from a 80's square body 3/4 or 1-ton, I had to move the spring perches and the shock mounts, but that is fairly easy. U-joints are the same, overall a very easy swap, parts are readily available and many gear sets to choose from, I'm running 3.56 in mine.

You wrote it's for your GMC 3/4 ton, most of them came with Dana 60's and those are excellent rear ends, just fyi.

Re: Which late model truck axle will fit a '69.
One challenge with swapping in a later axle is do you want all your lug nuts to match? In '71 they went to 9/16" lug studs and in '88 they went to 14mm.
If you are planning a disc swap, those are 9/16" and get you a donor up to '87. I too am a fan of the semi-float 14 as an excellent value that is as strong as the Dana 60 in terms of ring and pinion.
