Saxart, thanks for the info. The decision is made. It will be one of these 195 HP GM crate motors at $1894 delivered from Radley. I called them and they had to suspend EBay sales during the GM strike but he has one he can send me.
Weg92f, I looked at that option (Vortec) and I've dreamed for years about this upgrade but right now I don't need any extra expenditures such as Intake mani, flywheel, or whatever else comes up. I called one local shop and he wanted $1000 just for the R+R! My mindset now is to just get it back to work as painlessly as possible. Thanks though. -BA
Funny how my local GM performace dealer wants $2600 (plus 9.5% tax) for the same engine that I can get delivered for free from a place that is 2619 miles away in Fredericksburg Va. for $1894.
