6 cyl power steering ID?
Scored a bunch of parts this week and among them are what is supposed to be 292 power steering set up and a 250 steering setup. The 292 was pulled from a 69 and the 250 was an early 70s I was told. Can anyone confirm or deny? I don't do a lot with 6 cyl stuff...
Thanks.

The banjo shaped is for our years of trucks and cars. You'd have to match the main bracket to the right head for the exact fit.
The tear shaped is for later 70's and up.Looks a lot like the one on my 78,C-10. Best I can do without trying to fit them to an engine. Mike. ![]() |

Re: 6 cyl power steering ID?
The bracket that attaches to the motor I believe is correct for 69-72 292's. That being said everything else seems to be different. That bracket is suppose to mount directly to the pump, where yours has another bracket in between the two. The pulley is different than original and so are the adjusting rods. If you took it off from a complete engine, must be everything lined up though.

Here is what I have saved for 292 PS bracket pictures. The problem is every time someone posts pictures of the brackets there is something different on them. LockDoc

Re: 6 cyl power steering ID?
I understand what your saying, over the years things get changed around. Too much stuff I believe has an original bracket, but it's missing the extra piece in the first picture. That is what holds the back of the pump to the bracket. His has another piece in between that is holding it. Could you by any chance get me a number from the pulley on the last pump you have pictured there, I would appreciate it. I need a pulley for one. I need one like this one.

Re: 6 cyl power steering ID?
Thanks for all the input guys. So it looks like I have a correct 292 set up and a 250 setup. Any idea on values? I only have what is pictured, no other pullies or anything.
