I wonder if you can use these with a different type of lug and not use the plastic lug covers.

im running these :
behind my smoothies : Wheel close up by Keith, on Flickr they are just a little bit bigger then the bore of the wheel, but the flange is pulled tight between the wheel and the brake drum as the lugs are tightened down |

22" GM Transports
60 with 2-1/2" front spindles (torsions adjusted) and 4" drop springs in rear.

But they are rather large. the stock 7/16" lugs are too small.

I’m running stockers up front. Out back running wheel vintiques series 12 15x8 smoothies with 4” backspace. I modified some VW hubcap clips and drilled/tapped the wheel to fit these to run a hubcap.
