Leaky Dipstick Tube
Oil is leaking from the base of the dipstick tube on my 250inline 6. How do I fix this? It looks a little different than other photos I've seen but maybe since the engine came off a 1970 camaro. I have been unable to find much info online nor a replacement on any websites. Suggestions?

Re: Leaky Dipstick Tube
Remove tube, clean everything with brake cleaner, put a smear of Ultra Black around the tube base, shove back into block.

Re: Leaky Dipstick Tube
So just carefully pull out tube with pliers clean and tap back in? How do I know how far to go?

Re: Leaky Dipstick Tube
ok I got it. I started to dent the tube with pliers so I stuck a similar diameter screwdriver in the tube and pried it out. Cleaned it, use red gasket (all I had) and tapped it back in. Hopefully that will do it.
