Do you know what size jets are in the secondaries on the 650? As I read through the comments I too was thinking either advance issues or just just running out of fuel in the higher rpms. I'd like to see the cam card too but it sounds like it's a hog.

882 heads (basically small combustion chamber 305 heads) are good for a street motor but in my opinion wouldnt flow as well as a Dart / AFR head. I know they're pricey but a nice set of heads would make a world of difference. As mentioned it could be wiping the cam, valves floating in the higher RPM range .. do you know what valve springs are in it?

As you know all this has to work together to make a great race motor tour can drive on the street. If you have some cash put away, I'd maybe consider heads. .. or even a 750. Look for a 3310-4. Jet at ~70/76 and I promise you'll wake it up.
