I don't know much about the 503, except our local Fire Truck had one. It was in an Advance Design GMC, not sure of the series, but probably one of the largest available. The distinctive sound to it was so unique that I could always tell when it was leaving the station before it even rolled out the door, never mind the siren. I believe they were loaded with torque.
I originally posted it as a video, but was told that some members were having trouble getting it to open and a Mod changed it back to a link.
