'71 C 10 accelerator cable
While exiting freeway at 65 mph yesterday throttle was stuck wide open and was able to avoid stopped traffic barely, after pulling over, manually got idle down but don't know if this is cable or carb linkage problem and what I should do to fix it. Thanks for any help.

Unsnap the cable from the linkage and see if it is smooth acting or possibly frayed making it stick. If smooth, start looking at the carb. Floor mat inside the cab?

I'll go out and check that right away, do know it is not carpet or anything hanging up inside cab

Found it...was looking on wrong side, piece of choke linkage broke off and was getting caught in carb linkage. The red plastic "L" shaped piece behind choke (Why plastic?)

I would add another spring to the front of the throttle to pull it back down to idle also. May want to take the one you have and reverse it.
