Paint it any color you want!

I painted it like the rest of the truck: Epoxy primer, then Martin Senour single stage (although most of the truck is base/clear, which I could have done here too).

Nice! I have paint left from the engine. The painter gave it to me. maybe it is single stage. Now I will have to look. That would be nice since I have the fins to paint on other engine parts. Thank you.

The trans above is too nice to put under a truck. I would build a glass topped coffee table and admire it in my den/mancave.

I brought a couple cans of primer and semi gloss black rustoleum to the trans shop after they rebuilt mine. They put the completed trans in their fancy washer cabinet and rattle canned it after it had dried and was still warm. So far it looks good.

I painted mine the same color as the engine, Detroit Diesel Alpine Green. Unless you are doing a stock restoration, there really is no "wrong" color...
