What size are the studs on the adapters? I’m thinking of putting in 1/2” studs on the rear.

I put 1/2" studs on mine. I couldn't find an adapter with 1/2-20 studs and that's one of the reasons I machined my own. I've only found 6 X 5.5 adapters with 7/16 or M14 studs.
