How Low Before C Notch?
Disclaimer: Before I get flamed, I looked at suspension FAQ and didn't see it.
Simple question - how low on 73-87 1/2 ton before you must do c-notch? I'm wanting at least a 3/4 or 4/5-6 but don't want to get into cutting for c-notch as I'm lowering it myself in my garage.

Re: How Low Before C Notch?
I know for a fact you can do a 5" flip kit without a notch. There's still some room to go a tad lower, but not much. I'd guess 6" would be the max without a notch.

Re: How Low Before C Notch?
Here’s the deal,....
most flip kits will work without a c-notch. (5”-6” drop) If you add a rear drop shackle you will need to notch. BUT remember,... these trucks are old. So are the rear leaf springs sagging? Have some of the leaves been removed from the spring pack? There’s lots of varibles with these old trucks. I’ve done several flip kits with no need for a c-notch.

Re: How Low Before C Notch?
I would think you could answer this with a little measuring. How much travel you want the rear suspension to have before it bottoms out. Because a bottoming rear suspension IS MISERABLE!
