spark plugs??

what is the best plug to use in my 350, and what gap should they be set at?


btw: it is just a regular 350 with headers.

I am glad you asked this again. I was searching for this earlier and didnt find the info from the past. I will assume this has an HEI.

hmm maybe thats why my new egine runs a bit rough?? I gapped my plugs to .035 but i have an HEI. Should it be .045 for all hei's in 350's??

At least .045, if you want to experiment or have a hotter coil I would try .050 or more.

I have run HEIs @ .060 with good results.
Sorry I cant give you a plug number but a plug set up to run a larger gap is better because the electrode will be perpendicular to the plug.
A plug set up for a smaller gap will have an odd angle when gapped to .050-.060 and causes an uneven spark.

I gap my plugs at .45 and I'm still running points. I get pretty good performance too.

I run R45ts on HEI's there a hotter plug You can go up a few ranges like r43 is colder than r44s and r45s are hotter than r44s not sure if they have r46ts and r47ts never checked lol.

what kind of plug would recommend with a stock 350, pertronix igniter under the cap... and a crane adjustable vacuum advance .... r45ts or something different ???
