1967 bench seat
I just took a bench seat out of a 67 c10. I need to replace the foam and cover.
I'm putting it into a 72 k10 that is missing the seat. Is the seat lower and upper foam the same or different than the 72's? I assume the 72 cover with correct pattern will fit. Am I thinking right? |

Re: 1967 bench seat
There were several options in foam padding/Springs..
67-72 Chevy truck cushions came in 5 models 6″ thick molded foam bottom with molded back. (#CT6972) 6″ molded foam bottom/coil spring back with thin pad. Coil spring bottom with thin pad/molded foam back. Coil spring bottom and back. Thin pad on both. Some Canadian truck seats have been reported to be 1-2″ longer than American seat frames. http://www.americancushionind.net/pr...-gmc-suburban/

Re: 1967 bench seat
Figured it somehow wouldn't be as easy as ordering for a 72 bench. It also has the back that hinges forward. That may also be an issue. I may look for another donor seat. I'll be looking this seat over this weekend to see what springs and foam, then decide.

The covers for the folding seat are made different. You would have to get the cover for the '67 seat. LockDoc

Re: 1967 bench seat
LockDoc can you explain what the difference is on the folding seat - seat cover? Or do you know where I can see a comparison possibly?

On the folding seat the metal of the hinge has to be exposed so it will fold forward. On the fixed seat the upholstery covers the metal in that area. I'm sure a good upholstery shop could modify the later cover to work with the the earlier seat, dunno for sure. Grumpy Old Man could probably answer that question if you would shoot him a PM. LockDoc
