overhauled...the TV Show...

I guess they are going to have a Blazer overhaul done on an upcoming episode of Overhauled, just a rumor I heard through a student at the tech school in Wyoming (WYOTECH) Hopes they make it cool and not screw up a decent Blazer... no idea when, just heard the info...

That should be sweet. The thing I love about Foose is that if the original design is nice, he doesn't mess with it... like that show with the Chevelle. He said the body lines are perfect, why change it. Whereas some builders feel they must chop and channel everything.

As long as it's on "Overhauled" and not "Pimp My Ride", the Blazer should be fine. If anybody hears about or knows when this is on, give a shout out. That should be worth watching.

what they did with that camaro was incredible. I loved the flames and I usually don't do the flame thing.

Not the camaro because it was Foose's teacher that started the flames and then Chip got his hands in to the flame work.

American Hot Rod?

All I can say about that show is if I were charging the $$$ Coddington does I would make Discovery edit out more of the f-ups and mickey mouse rigging that I have been seeing lately on that show.

I was watching American Hot Rod the other night and I found myself wondering...Ok, so you've got your car in Coddington's shop. You are spending a PROFOUND amount of money with them to build you a car...you get a phone call--the car is done. You go and pick it up... and pay for it (ugggh)

...months go by

You grab a cold one and click on the tube. As you're watching American Hot Rod, you notice that it's your car on the show. What happens when you see/hear all of the corners cut and the "Well, I guess that's good enough" or the "They wont see this anyway" comments?

Just wondering.

I don't mind American Hotrod, buy I lost alot of respect for him. I personally think he is a total a$$ on the show. To full of him self attitude comes right through the TV screen to me. IMO

Foose is the man tho. My wife loves watching the show with me too. He seems way laid back and really enjoys what he does. His designs are just awesome.

Chip Foose comes across as nice guy on the show and is. I saw him at a car show in Seattle and started talking to him. He is genuinely humble about his talent and just wants to talk about cars. He asked me several questions about what I was building and thanked me for the comments I made about the T-bird he did for Ford and the Prowler he did for Chrysler. This was just a little over a year ago. He has had plenty of time to develop a big head over his talent but remains a pretty "down to earth" guy.

The only thing I dont like about overhaulin is that the fix rich peoples cars. WHY!?!?

They can afford anything they want, fix the average joes car and it would be much better. It started off like that (88 chevy) but has strayed far from the original idea.

one of the benifits of being in so cal! here's where a lot of those shows are done or up in LA. My wife almost got me on that show! i heard the message rejecting us because "my truck was too nice!" I CAN FIX THAT!!!
bummed but thought it was cool that she tried!
love that show and chip foose is an amazing designer.

gotta go "primer" the truck up now...

Yeah, Coddington is kind of an a$$ IMO too. I know he at one time got dirt under his finger nails to get where he is today but come on. How can a REAL car nut be around all of those cool cars and not get any grease or dirt on his hawaiian print shirts?

I agree...

I saw Boyd Coddington at the Good-Guys meet in Dallas, back when it was at Dallas Fair Park. He was commenting on a truck there (do you remember that Black and Red truck Trader's built back in like '92-'93) He was commenting out loud to me how it looked like a quicky piece of crap someone built in a garage over a weekend. I replied "I think it's a very nice job, that gets driven alot and is seeing some wear from being driven"... due to the chips on the paint, and worn rear tires (probably due to burn-outs) He then turns to me and says...(now get this)..."What do you know? What do you do for a living?"...I then replied...(now pissed)..."I sell $100,000 a month in high performance and race car parts, and would rather pay good money for this truck, than pay you a dime to put a starter on my '67... have good day Boyd..." and walked away... You should have seen the glares I got from him the rest of the day... he's a jerk IMO...

I think that the blazer would be cool just as long as the damn thing IS NOT ON PIMP MY RIDE I mean it's nice that they help the people who cannot afford it but it's just alittle too much for me. As far as boyd goes he turn's out some nice ride's but he seem's like a real ass... I really like watching foose and troy terpainer work together they both seemed really down to earth..
