LS 5.3 in AD with S10 Chassis
I have found a couple of issues in my SBC 350 (not terminal, but will take some time and money to address). I came across a pretty good deal on an LM7 5.3 engine and a 4L60E trans (from a 2004 Silverado), so I am making the switch. Any helpful links or things to look out for in this change over? Will the intank S10 fuel pump supply the right pressure and volume for the 5.3? Will my 4L60 shifter work on the 4L60E trans?
Thanks. Wade

what year is the s10 tank and pump? the shifter will work, the difference between a 4l60 and 4l60e is the electronic control versus non electronic control.

Re: LS 5.3 in AD with S10 Chassis
a 1993 will be a TBI, like 12lbs maybe. you will need to uprate the pump, I would get one from a flex fuel 2.2 s10. sounds counterintuitive to get a 2.2L pump but they are SFI, sequential fuel injection, and ALL the fuel has to be shot in the open valve. most every other fuel injection is batch, which fires whether the valve is open or closed, usually two squirts per revolution, and the fuel just bounces back and forth in the intake till the valve opens. a SFI system will have huge injectors and higher pressure to get all the squirt in that one shot, so the system pressure and volume of the pump will be higher.

Re: LS 5.3 in AD with S10 Chassis
I recently bought a 49 with a 2001 5.3. I'm running a Walbro 255 inline fuel pump. A little noise but seems to work fine.

Re: LS 5.3 in AD with S10 Chassis
Thanks. My first choice is to use an intank pump, but good to know that the inline option is available too.
