1959 GMC 100 - shackle bolts
I have a rear rear shackle top bolt that is broken. I have the threaded bottom bolt out but the top broken bolt on the rear leaf spring has yet to budge. I am sure it is threaded like the bottom bolt which screwed thru both directions - taking it out.
I did apply blue flame to the leaf spring eye but it will not budge trying to screw it thru. My next try will be to weld the outside nut and try to screw it out. I take the threaded bushing are cooled and the eye heated before they are pressed in new. Any help or info is appreciated. If/when I get the leaf bolt out I may not have to replace the bushing --maybe.

Re: 1959 GMC 100 - shackle bolts
ok, torch heat then a ball joint remover will take out both rear rear bushings but I only had to remove the leaf bushings. I can replace both rear rear leaf bushings with one kit.
I believe I can install those bushings back with lubricate and chilling with the ball joint installer also. I will tackle the rear front to accept grease again next, I hope.
