I'd like to get after market exhaust manifold for my 235. These are easy to find, but I would like to have an aftermarket intake as well. Does anyone make a one barrel intake manifold for the 235 head? If not, can the area where the intake/exhaust bolt together be closed off with a plate?

Thanks! The top one is exactly like what I have, the bottom one is a 2 barrel. Both have a "split" where they mount to the exhaust manifold. If I get "headers", then these won't mount up. Is there an aftermarket one that is JUST the intake and does not "split" (bolt to) the exhaust manifold? Or do I need a "warming plate" ?

Tom Langdon sells a plate that you hook up heater hoses to heat the intake for smoother cold weather running https://catalog.ecwid.com/#!/Intake-...=0&sort=normal That will do what you asked for.

It's designed to be used with headers either tube or cast.

Nifty! That just runs a tube on the backside, right? Or does it actually fill the manifold with water?

I'm not exactly how it works. it would only fill that heat cavity on the bottom of the intake at most meaning you would have to use a gasket. He suggested that I use one on my 4 barrel intake on my 292 when I bought the cast headers for it from him. He's good to explain things on the phone if you call him. He actually called me while riding down the road in a truck from an event where he had a booth to confirm the order on the headers.

This has me thinking that the water runs in and through the cavity that is normally heated by exhaust. http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/tec...take-manifold/

Meaning that for my intake I would need a spacer between the plate and the intake to have space for the water to flow. I may have to go to my buddy who can do anything and ask "how can we make this work".

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
