i.COLOR Hot Rod Black SS Urethane

Don't let the name scare you. It's just a nice satin black.

Eric can speak to the material choice (handling etc.) as he decides the paint...I'm just looking for a factory effect...and I like it for that reason.

Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you for the info... I appreciate it!!

Do you know... was it sprayed as is, or was a flattening additive added to achieve the desired look?

Thanks again!

I'm wondering too. The link said the paint was a high gloss, but IronCanine stated it was satin. I think satin would be correct. Maybe wrong link....

The link Iron Canine posted is right. The can will have HOT ROD BLACK on it. It is sold in other colors and they do offer a flattening additive (which I did not use) to use in the other colors. We purchased it from Advanced Auto.

It mixes 4 parts #1401 Hot Rod Black, 1 part #1070 reducer, and 1 part #1020 catalyst. No flattening additive used.

I like it because it yields the same results every time. I painted my son's '70 pick up in pieces and all panels had the same sheen.

Thank you for the additional information. I plan to use this product on my truck in the coming weeks.

Merry Christmas
